Q&A: Is impersonating somebody over text illegal in California?

Question by Nimet: Is impersonating somebody over text illegal in California?
I got a Pinger, which gave me a new number. I decided to text this girl i sorta know pretending to be one of her friends. She found out, and told the school counsler, and threatened to tell the police. I never called her anything mean, threatened, or harassed her. It was a normal conversation that lasted an hour. Were both minors and in the 8th grade. And I have no history on my record of getting in trouble. Can I get arrested?

No lol if you kept it up and made a bad reputation for the girl you were pretending to be. Then maybe, but if you didn’t then who cares.
