I always text this girl first and sometimes it goes on but sometimes its just a short exchange and then she stops texting, but if I ask her another question or something, she responds.

She doesn’t want to talk to you if shes giving you short responses and not trying to hold the conversation. Don’t text her first and let her text you. If she doesn’t then you know shes not interested in you for sure.
