Question by Raindog: Does a person receiving a land line text message have to pay?
I recieved a text from my girl friend on my home phone and i was worried that their might be some crazy charge for listening to it, or does it cost what a normal phone call cost?

  1. If you are referring to the ‘Text-To-Speech’ SMS feature provided by some mobile service operators, then you will Not be charged for the ‘text’.

    Your girlfriend may be charged extra for the service however (should be no more than 25c).

    When I say TTS SMS, I am referring to service that some carriers provide where they will call the receiving party’s landline and read the text message aloud in a computerized voice.
